THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 5, 2026
Bombyx
Florence, MA
Senegalese kora master Ablaye Cissoko shares the stage in a mesmerizing collaboration with French accordionist and composer Cyrille Brotto.
Cissoko is one of his generation’s finest kora players – an 800-year old instrument which combines the features of the lute and harp. It is used extensively in West Africa by djeli families - traditional historians, genealogists and storytellers - who pass their skills on to their descendants.
Brotto is an accomplished diatonic accordionist and multi-instrumentalist, with a distinguished performing and educational profile in France and across Europe. The rapport between these two artists is evident in their mesmerizing music.

SEssA + KOLUMBO
The Iron Horse
Northampton, MA
The São Paulo artist Sergio Sayeg known as Sessa returns this Spring on the release of his third album, Pequena Vertigem de Amor, with a new sound that draws from soul-funk inspirations of the 70s as a lovely evolution to the earthy sensuality of his first releases.
Sessa’s music draws primarily from the wealth of music created in the 60s in Brazil with the Tropicalia movement, which fused Brazilian popular and traditional music with rock and psychedelic styles. His new record takes his project into a funky and nocturnal direction — adding piano and synths and wah-wah guitar to his stripped-down, minimalist aesthetic. Sergio cites Northern and South American influences in this evolution of his music: Shuggie Otis, Roy Ayers, Sly Stone; Tim Maia, Erasmos Carlos and Hyldon.
He is joined by Brooklyn-based Kolumbo, who play slinky psych-jazz-Caribbean-tropicalia for you.
